Visualization

It’s an interesting exercise that I did a couple of times on meditation and it’s really amazing.

As any form of meditation, it allows me to get quiet and focus on positive things. It makes me feel grounded, remind me how lucky I am and help me reconnect with myself and my goals.

The point is not to think about the object itself but the feelings and the sensations that it awakes in you.

For example, you workout not to have a 6 pack, because in itself it doesn’t make you happy. The 6 pack is just an aesthetic option for your body. But when you have it; you feel sexy, confident and strong.

You want to have a porsche not for the car, it’s just a big object. But you want it for the sensation of the speed, the adrenaline, the powerful sensation that you feel.

So when you visualize what is it that you want, focus on those feelings and sensations with all your 5 senses. Imagine the touch, the smell, the noise, the taste, the colours…

Make your dream alive, it will manifest in your life at some point. The more you think about those things that makes you happy the more you rise your energy.

I like to do this in the morning to put in a good mood before work but also at night before sleeping, it makes me feel grateful.

What do you visualize for yourself ?

Mornings rituals

I have never been able to get out of bed quickly, I am not an early bird. During a long time, my morning was just a race from my bed to the bus, I didn’t had breakfast for almost 6 years. To me there was no point about getting up earlier to do things before work. I was always looking to get a few extra minutes on my bed.

But I have learned recently that having a morning ritual can really have a positive impact on your day. And who doesn’t want to have a good day? And then a good week? Fuck I want to feel good every day for as long as I can.

Soooooo, I have watched a few articles and videos of successful entrepreneurs, gurus and yogis… and I tried to implement some elements on my daily morning. But not everything, I am not perfect. It’s hard for me to not get up at the last minute, I am not going to get up at 5am just to start with a to-do list.

Here are the few things I get to do before my breakfast and leaving home:

  1. I don’t turn on my phone, I use a soft music on the background, but I don’t quit the plane mod. It allows me to keep my head quiet without stressing out already with the 23 notifications popping on my screen.
  2. I do a 10 minutes yoga flow stretching session. This is really good for me because it’s an extra stretch from the stretches I already do after working out and it awake my body softly.
  3. I do a 5 minutes meditation. This is a bit hard on some morning and some others super easy. I have a list of short morning videos ready on Youtube or I use the app Headspace. This helps me with the storm in my head (I didn’t do that, I need to do that, what is going to be my future in 6 months…)
  4. I set the intention for the day. This one is tricky, I need inspiration because I tend to repeat myself or I don’t know what to do at all. But it’s important because you can come back to it during the day. Example: Today I will stay calm. That’s an intention I have to repeat myself a couple of times during the day when my boss is stressing me out.
  5. I cook a basic but good breakfast: green tea, omelette with cheese and homemade granola.

A little trick that has been a life time saver: I prepare all my stuff the night before (my clothes, my lunch, my handbag) so in the morning I just have to follow these steps before and that’s it.

Benefits:

– I awake slowly my body

– I protect my mind a few more minutes from the daily stress

– I put myself in a good mood and mindset

– I feel ready to accomplish my goals

I don’t want you to take this as “another-thing-to-do” today. These little rituals are moments that now I really enjoy because I do them for ME, because it makes ME FEEL GOOD.

Don’t feel guilty if this morning you couldn’t do your usual routine because you overslept, or you had to leave home earlier.

The morning ritual isn’t an additional pression. It’s here to make you feel good.

All day long we have to do things for others, so it’s nice to take a few minutes for yourself during the day several times a day.

Please don’t wait for the weekend to live and do something for yourself.

The morning routine it’s also a moment for you to question your life, your dreams and your projects.

Try what you like the most and incorporate it in your day. ENJOY

The meditation challenge

The first I heard the term meditation it was years ago, when I was still studying at the unversity. I was talking with friends that were trying yoga classes and saying that the meditation at the end wasn’t relaxing at all. They made a very funny description of it, not appealing at all, and I kept on living my life without getting interested in this topic for a long time.
But after my Master’s degree when I had to go home and get treatment for anorexia, the word started to pop again.
Therapy is good, drugs are good for a while. But there is a time in my life I wanted to be on my own, drug free and without a therapy session every month. I started reading articles about the benefits of yoga and meditation to calm the spirit and heal traumas.

Yoga is a phylosohy, a all way of living. Most of the time I used the postures to stretch my body and some of the breathing exercises to calm me down.

Last year due to a lot of personal stress I tried meditation to calm my nerves. And what’s ironical is that it didn’t felt calming at all at the beginning. It was my fault because I completely misunderstood the right way to do it. I was trying to not think anything at all. But it’s impossible, you can’t have your mind thoughts-free. Never.
But the point of meditation is not trying to control your thoughts, how they come and go. Is just to focus on your breath. Your breathe in, breath out, if there is a thought coming you just “observ” it, let it go, focus again your breath and you keep going as long as you need.

It became a very important ritual in my daily life. I started to do it at night before going to bed to calm me and sleep better. And now I am also doing it in the morning to prepare me for the day. When I have the chance, I also take a couple of minutes at lunch to take a break from all what is going on on my life.

It helps me take out the stress that I accumulate in my mind and my body, helps me breath better, relax all the muscles of my body and put things in perspective.

We get so caught up in our daily problems that we forget our purpose in life, how to be happy with ourselves every day and make our loved one happy. Meditation helps me a better person because it gaves me a bubble where I can relax, focus on my peace and self confidence. I feel so much better after that, I can’t be a bitch to others because I feel in a good place.

For those of you that want to give it a try, I would recommend you to do what I did: go on Youtube and look for videos. There are thousand of videos, short and long, to help you medidate and work on your anxiety, attract abundance, love and good energy in your life. When you start to practive, you feel the benefits quickly and it’s addictive in a good way.
Let me know if you tried and how you liked it !
